2011 Volvo C70
Volvo has reinvigorated its signature C70 hardtop convertible for 2011 with a sleek new look and an extended array of standard luxury features that add up to even greater value. The enhancements begin on the outside where the front sports a redesigned appearance that conveys a more aggressive appearence. The new fascia, grille with enlarged iron mark and headlights display Volvo’s enhanced design language influenced by the revolutionary XC60 and upcoming next generation S60.
Bodywork details such as the front fenders have also been redesigned, contributing to the new look. The nose is more wedge-shaped and has been given added three-dimensional depth by moving some elements of the front both longitudinally and vertically. The new headlights and the décor around the fog lights, for instance, have been angled upward and toward the rear while the detailing of the lower grille and new, larger air intake reinforce the self-assured stance.
Price: $39,950.
The exclusive high-tech LED taillights, similar in function to those found on the XC60, are the most noticeable update at the rear. The entire light unit is clearly integrated with the oval that frames the enhanced C70′s rear fascia. Rounding out the exterior revisions is the availability of Flamenco Red and Ember Black as dynamic new color choices.
The instrument panel has been redesigned, giving it a wider, sleeker look. The surface of the panel has a new texture that enhances the feeling of quality. Exclusive new instruments, with gauges and graphics specific to the C70, are yet another example of how the model’s premium qualities have been enhanced.
The already lengthy roster of standard equipment grows even longer for 2011. A five-speed ‘Geartronic’ automatic transmission, Sovereign Hide leather, Sirius Satellite Radio and 17-inch ‘Sirona’ diamond-cut alloy wheels are now standard. New Cranberry leather can be specified as a no-charge option.
Meanwhile, the C70′s raison d’etre hasn’t changed. The sporting reflexes and weather-tight security of a turbocharged coupe coupled with the wide-open exhilaration and fresh-air freedom of a convertible appeal to passionate adventure seekers. A key ingredient to the C70′s magnetism is its three-piece retractable hardtop.
With the touch of a button, the retractable hardtop folds away quickly and smoothly into the trunk. Apart from the flexibility offered by the design it also makes for a quieter, more comfortable coupe. The large rear window glass offers outstanding outward visibility and improves body rigidity.
Driving pleasure excels in the C70 with its standard turbocharged T5 engine. Output for the 2.5-liter light-pressure turbo powerplant is 227 horsepower at 5,000 rpm with torque at 236 lb.-ft. from 1,500 to 4,800 rpm. The flat torque curve puts the power to the front wheels evenly and makes the car highly responsive.
As a Volvo, the C70 is fitted with an impressive array of safety features. An important part of side impact and rollover protection is the Inflatable Curtain (IC). In the C70 it has been given a unique design. The curtain has an extra stiff construction with double rows of slats that are slightly offset from each other. This allows them to remain upright and offer effective head protection even with the window open. The curtain also deflates slowly to provide protection should the car roll over. This is a unique solution in the automotive world, and a world first for a four-passenger convertible.
2011 Audi A7
The A7 is pure high-tech. Its body is very lightweight thanks to numerous aluminum components. The elegant interior shows a craftsman’s level of workmanship. The four V6 engines combine refined power with groundbreaking efficiency. The 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) and multitronic has CO2 emissions of just 139 grams per kilometer (223.70 g/mile). The sporty chassis comes with new solutions, such as electromechanical power steering. When it comes to assistance and infotainment systems, the luxury-class coupe exhibits all of the innovative power expected of Audi.
The five-door coupe from Audi combines supreme, long-distance comfort with a sporty character. The interior noise level is very low even at fast highway speeds, with the V6 engines providing refined acoustic feedback as their power unfolds.
The excellent vibrational comfort likewise contributes to the atmosphere of cultured tranquility on board. This is the result of painstakingly tuning all components, systematic hydraulic damping in the axle and drivetrain bearings and the extremely stiff body. The body is comprised primarily of aluminum and high-tech steels, making it extremely lightweight and safe. The large rear hatch opens wide to reveal a large, extremely usable luggage compartment that is very easy to load. Its 535-liter (18.89 cu ft) capacity swells to a volume of 1,390 liters (49.09 cu ft) with the rear seat backrests folded down.
With the A7, which will be rolling into dealerships in the fall at a base price of €51,600, Audi is taking up a new design line representing elegance on a grand scale. The five-door coupe is 4.97 meters (16.31 ft) long and 1.91 meters (6.27 ft) wide, but only 1.42 meters (4.66 ft) high. Its long hood, the short front overhang, the long wheelbase, the sportily flowing C-pillars and the sharply dropping rear create a dynamic overall impression. The five-door coupe is an aesthetic athlete with a wide, powerful road stance.
The sinewy sportiness of the exterior carries over into the interior of the A7, where Audi again demonstrates its leading role in automotive design. The salient element is the ‘wrap-around,’ a horizontal line that encircles the driver and front-seat passenger in the interior to provide a feeling of safety and security. The wave-shaped application strip with its integrative dynamics is the salient element of the dashboard.
The utmost care has been devoted to every last detail in the interior. Workmanship is at a craftsman’s level. Optional climate-control and massage functions are available for the front seats covered in high-grade Audi leathers. The optional ambient lighting fills the entire interior with atmosphere.
The top navigation system works closely together with the many optional driver assistance and safety systems in the A7. It forwards the route data to the control units for the headlights, the automatic transmission and the adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, enabling these systems to recognize complex scenarios. In many cases, the Audi pre sense safety system can reduce the severity of accidents and their consequences. The new Audi active lane assist helps the driver to keep the A7 firmly on course, and the new park assist system relieves the driver of the chore of steering when parallel parking.
Audi will initially offer the A7 with a choice of four powerful and cultivated V6 engines: two gasoline and two TDI units. Their power output ranges from 150 kW (204 hp) to 220 kW (300 hp), and their efficiency sets impressive new standards in the vehicle class. The new 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) and multitronic consumes on average just 5.3 liters of fuel per 100 km (44.38 US mpg), corresponding to CO2 emissions of just 139 g per km (223.70 g/mile). All engines use Audi’s innovative thermal management system, a recuperation system and a start-stop system.
In the interior, even the tiniest details document the care with which Audi builds its cars. The quality of the workmanship is on a craftsman’s level. High-grade new materials such as layered wood veneers are a treat for the senses, and an optional ambient lighting system adds highlights to the interior. The front seats are available with optional ventilation and massage functions. A further option allows the contours of the side bolsters on the seat and backrest to be adjusted individually.
The standard automatic transmissions also play a role in the high efficiency of the Audi A7. Audi offers two different transmissions depending on the engines: The continuous multitronic sends the power to the front wheels, while the sporty seven-speed S tronic works together with quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The latest evolutionary stage of quattro features a crown-gear center differential and torque vectoring.
The drive system is particularly flexible and dynamic. The optional sport differential actively distributes the power between the rear wheels.
The chassis also combines sporty precision with luxurious comfort. The Audi A7 rolls on large wheels measuring from 18 to 20 inches in diameter. The chassis features aluminum control arms and a newly developed power steering system with an electromechanical drive for high efficiency. The Audi drive select dynamics system is standard and can be supplemented by the optional adaptive air suspension with controlled damping.
The five-door coupe from Audi combines supreme long-distance comfort with a sporty character. The interior noise level is very low even at high speeds, with the engines providing subtle acoustic feedback as their power unfolds. Behind the excellent acoustics are new structural design methods, the bundled use of high-end materials such as microfiber fleeces, and the systematic conceptual design of multifunction parts, such as acoustically active wheel well shells and underbody panels.

Interior
For 2011, a new interior has been designed with a contemporary style. The new interior remains generously spacious and elegant, fitted with comfortable seating and thoughtfully integrated amenities. Coordinated colors and rich wood-grain materials were carefully chosen to convey an optimistic attitude and modern essence.
Standard leather-trimmed front seats and seatbacks on the Limited are fitted with ventilation systems and an enlarged perforation area to help keep them cool. Interior seats feature thicker stitching, which provides an elegant accent to the interior design. Active front headrests are also standard.
The rear seating area is configured to seat three passengers comfortably, with ample legroom and reclining rear seats, unique in the segment. The rear headrests have also been reshaped and enlarged for better support, and a convenient flip-down center armrest provides storage when the middle seat is not in use.
A power rear sunshade, deployable via a one-touch lever, filters direct sunlight coming through the rear window. The sunshade, which helps to protect rear seat passengers from unwanted light and heat, automatically detracts when the driver selects reverse gear.
A new instrument panel incorporates visually attractive and highly readable Optitron gauges that use graduated white illumination with white pointers. They are set inside smoked lenses and deep chrome rings that add depth and a sense of luxury. The steering wheel includes controls for Bluetooth hands-free phones, the audio system, climate system, and the information center.
Exterior
For 2011, Calty restyled Avalon to project an elegant, outgoing presence. A wider, more substantial grille ties into state-of-the-art projector headlamps, working with a broad, undisturbed front hood to suggest a lowered center of gravity and emphasize the Avalon’s wide stance.
The new headlamps, which combine multi-reflector halogen high beams with halogen or HID low beams, utilize light pipes to create a signature, night-time appearance. The front fog lamps, now integrated into a trapezoidal front bumper, provide a wider angle of illumination.
Viewed from the side, the 2011 Toyota Avalon is enhanced by additional use of chrome trim, redesigned rocker panels, and glare-resistant outer mirrors with integrated turn signals. New 17-inch wheels on the Limited grade feature a 10-spoke design with a mirror finish.
At the rear of the car, identification is cleanly defined by a single Avalon logo located above the license plate. Dual-exhaust pipes are integrated into the cutaway trapezoid shape of the lower bumper for a modern image. Taillights have been reshaped to reduce turbulence at the rear, helping to create a lower coefficient of drag. The new lights integrate stop, turn and side marker lighting functions in one combined lamp. Unique LED light pipes with dark aluminized sides and both clear and red lenses project a modern appearance.
Technology-Enriched Environment
A comprehensive infusion of technology was designed into the new interior to ensure an enriched environment, with enhanced function and connectivity.

Performance and Efficiency
Avalon’s exceptional combination of ample horsepower and excellent fuel economy offers one of the best overall dynamic performances in the large sedan segment.
The 2011 Toyota Avalon is powered by a 24-valve, dual-overhead cam 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm. The engine is equipped with the latest dual VVT-i electronic valve-control mechanism that provides a broader powerband, while requiring less fuel and generating fewer emissions. It is mated to a multi-mode six-speed automatic transmission.
2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder
The Boxster Spyder features a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine with Direct Fuel Injection upfront of the rear axle. Maximum output is 320 horsepower (hp), 10 hp more than the Boxster S. The combination of 10 more hp and 176 pounds less weight than the award-winning Boxster S, plus an all-new sport suspension that lowers the Boxster Spyder 20 mm, a lower center of gravity, a standard limited slip differential, and exclusive wheels provides the kind of driving dynamics that back up the unique look. Aluminum door skins and lightweight interior door panels from the 911 GT3 RS contribute to the weight reduction.
When equipped with Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and the Sports Chrono Package, the new Spyder, using Launch Control, accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Top track speed is 166 mph – with the roof open.
Fundamentally, the entire Boxster family is the successor to the legendary 550 Spyder and RS 60 of the Fifties and Sixties, all sharing the same mid-engine roadster concept. Low weight and supreme agility combine to provide outstanding driving pleasure.
Price: $61,200.
LIGHTER AND MORE POWERFUL
Weighing 176-lbs less than the standard Boxster S and with 10 extra horsepower, it’s as though Porsche decided to start building Lotuses. The difference, however, is the engine and transmission in this car. Instead of using donor parts from Toyota, it’s pure Porsche and it shows. The shifts are smooth and precise, the powerband is broad and yet perfectly linear in the way that only a naturally aspirated engine can be.
All 320 horses come on at 7200 rpm, which is 950 rpm higher than in the Boxster S and the added revs make for added fun. Also important in invigorating the driving experience is the Sports Chrono Package that includes a Sport button on the dash that delivers more sensitive throttle response. Those who opt for the PDK and Sports Chrono Plus package will get a Sport Plus button that not only offers improved throttle response, but also adds quicker shift times and new shift points.
The sound is also intoxicating with enough resonance from the raspy growling flat-six coming into the cabin to really let you know the engine is right behind you.
CUSHY AND COMFORTABLE
After my thrilling joyride I informed a Porsche rep of my Lotus analogy, to which he responded that the Porsche, unlike a Lotus, is also comfortable. As he said this my train of thought came to a halt with the force of some carbon ceramic rotors. Comfortable it is not.
Sure, it’s not brutalizing, but the stiffer and lower (0.8-inch lower) suspension is seriously firm and you’ll feel everything from suspension joints to hairline fractures in the pavement.
Compounding the interior experience are racing seats with a lower structure that isn’t just stiff, but solid. My 34-inch waist fits with only minimal room to spare and those with less-than sleek frames should be weary. Surprisingly, they’re actually incredibly comfortable and the lower and side bolstering is certainly necessary for the sort of driving you’ll do once behind the wheel.
With leather sides, grippy Alcantara seat inserts and bright red seat belts, the car’s race-inspired theme is obvious. Also of note is the three-spoke steering wheel and red door pulls rather than door handles. Outside, the Spyder gets numerous unique design cues inspired not just by the classic 1953 550 Spyder, but also the Carrera GT. Most notable are the rear bulges on the decklid. And helping make the roadster look longer and larger than it is are shorter side windows.
ACCELERATION AND HANDLING
And the Spyder’s fun factor isn’t just limited to the twisties. Straight line acceleration is brisk. Sure with “only” 320-hp from it’s direct-injection 3.4-liter flat-six it’s no ferocious exotic, but it goes nonetheless with a 0-62 mph time of just 4.6 seconds when equipped with the optional PDK dual-clutch transmission and Sports Chrono Package. My test model was fitted with an old fashioned 6-speed manual transmission (delivering a 4.9 second 0-60 mph time) and as much as I love and respect Porsche’s PDK, I wouldn’t have this car any other way.
Combining the balanced chassis, stiff suspension, precise steering and perfectly sensitive throttle with a real stick and pedal makes for a classic motoring experience that’ll deliver the most smiles. Plus, while it might not be the most efficient, a properly executed heel-toe will have you feeling fully in control of this masterful piece of German engineering. It’s the sort of feeling that let’s you know you didn’t just earn this Porsche, but that you deserve it.
On the canyon roads with the Sport button pressed, the car reacts perfectly to each and every input while a new program for the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) allows just a little extra slip. The stiffer suspension, limited slip differential, reduced curb weight and lower center of gravity accentuate the Boxster’s already well-balanced dynamics. Possibly even more amazing is that with such a firm spring and shock combo the car still grips the rippled and pot-marked road that’s a far cry from the glass smooth surface of a racetrack.
The solitary complaint we have about the Spyder’s driving experience is in the braking department. The brakes themselves did actually operate admirably, but initial bite was lacking.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze has a segment-leading 10 air bags to help keep passengers safe in a crash, and an engineering specialist who does his most inventive thinking about vehicle safety in the middle of the night.
Featuring a 1.4L Ecotec turbocharged engine with variable valve timing, the Cruze Eco is designed to be the most fuel-efficient model in the lineup, delivering an estimated 40 mpg on the highway with the standard six-speed manual transmission. City fuel economy, as well as estimates for the Cruze Eco equipped with an available six-speed automatic transmission, will be finalized closer to launch.
The Eco achieves greater fuel economy using a number of features that enhance its aerodynamics, minimize weight and reduce rolling resistance.
Details include:
* A lower front grille air shutter that closes at higher speeds to improve aerodynamics and opens at lower speeds to optimize engine-cooling airflow
* The upper grille has more ‘closeouts’ to improve aerodynamics
* A lower front air dam extension, extensive use of underbody panels and a rear spoiler enhance aerodynamics
* A lowered ride height improves aerodynamics
* Unique 17-inch lightweight aluminum wheels
* Ultra-low rolling resistance 17-inch Goodyear tires.
The axle ratio on the manual-transmission model is also optimized for fuel economy, while helping the car deliver confident performance. Chevrolet estimates the Cruze Eco will deliver 0-60 mph performance of about 10 seconds with the manual transmission and 9 seconds with the six-speed automatic.
Interior refinement
Cruze’s bold design cues and attention to detail carry over to the interior, where Chevrolet’s hallmark twin-cockpit motif is matched with high-quality materials and exceptional assembly tolerances. Grained, soft-touch components and low-gloss trim panels exude a quality that is uncommon in the segment.
The instrument panel is an excellent example of how Cruze eschews expectations of compact cars. It features richly detailed instruments that are backlit with light-emitting diode (LED) technology. The LED lights provide a crisp, ice-blue illumination of the analog instruments, as well as lighting for other interior controls. A segment-rare standard driver information center delivers a wealth of data to the vehicle owner.
Blending harmoniously with the instrument panels is an integrated center stack that houses the infotainment display, climate controls and radio controls. Flush-mounted components within the center stack have a gap tolerance of less than 1 mm, while the instrument panel-to-door panel gaps are less than 5 mm. Those tolerances are among the best in the class and contribute significantly to the Cruze’s aura of refinement and precision.
Cruze’s headliner and pillar trim exude craftsmanship, too. The headliner cover is made of a knit material that also serves as one of five layers of an acoustically designed headliner to help make the passenger compartment quieter. The interior pillar and other moldings are color- and grain-matched to the headliner, while seat inserts are color-matched to the color of the instrument panel accent trim, giving the cabin the detailed appearance of larger, upscale sedans.
New, Efficient Powertrains
Enhanced with its exhaust-driven turbocharger, the Cruze’s Ecotec 1.4L turbo performs like a larger engine when needed, but retains the efficiency of a small-displacement four-cylinder in most driving conditions. It is standard on LT and LTZ models, with power ratings estimated at 138 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb.-ft. of torque (200 Nm). With the Ecotec 1.4L turbo, Cruze’s fuel efficiency enables a cruising range of more than 500 miles (800 km), meaning it can go longer between fill-ups.
Standard on LS models is an Ecotec 1.8L four-cylinder that has the same basic architecture as the 1.4L turbo. Both engines are part of GM’s family of global small-displacement engines designed with fuel efficiency in mind, including technology such as full variable valve timing that optimizes performance and fuel economy across the rpm band.
Backing the Cruze’s new four-cylinder engines are six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Each contributes to Cruze’s excellent fuel economy. Cruze is backed by GM’s five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty – the best coverage in America.
Responsive, Quiet Driving Experience
Complementing Cruze’s new powertrains is a strong body structure and chassis system designed to deliver a responsive and fun driving experience. The body structure is tight and stiff; and its solidity enabled engineers to more precisely tune the chassis for comfort and driving control.
A MacPherson strut suspension is used up front, while a technically advanced Z-link design is used with the rear suspension. It helps center the rear axle during cornering, helping to keep the Cruze’s handling responses symmetrical on both left-hand and right-hand turns. The linkage’s capability to center the axle during cornering delivers a more balanced driving experience, as the rear suspension better follows the lead of the front suspension.
StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation, as well as traction control and anti-lock brakes, are standard. Rack-mounted electric power steering is also standard on all models. It helps save fuel because it removes the conventional power steering pump from the engine’s driven accessories. Sixteen-inch wheels are standard on LS and LT models, with 17-inch alloy wheels standard on LTZ. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels are available on 2LT and LTZ models.

In 2011, the Audi A5 Cabriolet and S5 Cabriolet continue that tradition, offering buyers a level of carefree driving with the joy of a soft top and the all-weather capability of quattro® all-wheel drive.
With an overall length of 182.1 inches, the 2011 Audi A5 affords both drivers and passengers unmatched interior space, even in the back seats. Extensive use of high-quality materials and a bevy of high-tech driving aids and convenience options continue to make the Audi A5 a benchmark of the class. Both cabriolets enjoy the same level of sophistication as their hard top brethren, but they also incorporate a power folding multi-layer acoustic soft top that is capable of retracting fully in as little as 17 seconds – and at speeds of up to 31 mph. A firm commitment to innovative technologies has enabled a refined suspension built on a lifetime of racing experience to deliver a ride that manages to be both comfortable and capable, offering up the world class handling and razor-sharp response buyers have come to demand from their Audi cars.
Price: $36,500 – $44,000.
Design
Arguably the definitive Audi design of recent years, the Audi A5 presents a low and muscular physique, with an extended roofline and sharply carved contours guiding the eye along its sleek shape. Capitalizing on the styling elements that define a sports coupe, the Audi A5 exudes performance and elegance with a tall shoulder line and steeply raked windshield. The instantly identifiable Audi Singleframe® grille dominates the front of the car, while available purposeful LED taillights illuminate the rear.
Similarly, the Audi A5 Cabriolet and Audi S5 Cabriolet present a beautiful form, which highlights a long, lunging hood and gracefully styled flanks. With the unobtrusive soft top raised, the Audi A5 Cabriolet maintains its coupe roots, while lowering the roof immediately conveys a sense of speed and purpose. The Audi A5 Cabriolet and its sportier sister, the Audi S5 Cabriolet, give buyers driving elegance no matter the weather. On both models, bold and muscular fender lines define the profile. The look immediately hints at the performance potential of the chassis, as well as the surefootedness of quattro all-wheel drive.
Engine
In 2011, both the Audi A5 Coupe and Audi A5 Cabriolet are powered by the potent 2.0 TFSI® turbocharged four-cylinder engine. With a sturdy cast-iron block and efficient aluminum cylinder head, the 2.0 TFSI delivers 211 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Audi uses direct-injection technology to increase the efficiency of the 2.0 TFSI, and, as a result, the engine manages an astonishing 30 mpg highway in an Audi A5 equipped with a manual transmission. (posted on conceptcarz.com) The turbocharged engine provides abundant torque, making the Audi A5 capable of a 6.5 second sprint to 60 mph and proving there is no need to sacrifice true sports coupe performance for everyday fuel economy. The 2011 Audi S5 Cabriolet benefits from a powerful and efficient 3.0 TFSI V6 engine.
The 3.0-liter, all-aluminum engine is supercharged to create 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant incorporates a number of Audi innovations to maintain class-leading fuel efficiency as well. Audi valvelift system, FSI® direct injection, a two-stage intake, dual intercoolers and a drive-by-wire throttle all help the 3.0 TFSI stay remarkably efficient, delivering 17/26 mpg (city/hwy).
Buyers seeking prodigious performance and power from their Audi coupes need look no further than the Audi S5. The S5 boasts a powerful V8 engine, dubbed the 4.2 FSI. This all-aluminum 4.2-liter engine provides 354 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Also featuring FSI direct injection, the S5 is capable of an exhilarating 4.9-second rush from 0-60 mph, with the stout V8 providing an immediate swell of power the moment the gas pedal is depressed. When mated to the Tiptronic® automatic transmission, the 4.2 FSI offers buyers 16/24 mpg (city/hwy).
Interior
The 2011 Audi A5 boasts an ergonomic interior designed around driver and passenger comfort. Audi has taken an even greater focus on attractive shapes and precision workmanship to create a space as gorgeous as it is functional. With high-quality leather and rich materials assembled together to the strictest tolerances, it is obvious immediately that there has been no cost spared in interior luxury.
Comfortable sports seats provide ample support, and a driver-oriented center console hosts an exquisitely designed interface, as well as Audi’s industry benchmark third-generation MMI® system. If optioned, the seven-inch MMI screen is located high on the dashboard to facilitate reading and minimize the amount of time spent lòòking away from the road. The driver also is treated to a standard leather-wrapped §teering wheel and brilliant, easy-to-read gauges.
Drivetrain
A5 Coupes and Cabriolets benefit from a number of gearbox solutions to complement the torque laden and fuel-efficient 2.0 TSFI engine. Connecting power via standard quattro all-wheel-drive, the A5 Coupe is offered with the choice of a precise six-speed manual transmission or an available Audi Tiptronic six-speed automatic gearbox. The Audi A5 Cabriolet comes standard with an Audi FrontTrak® multitronic® CVT and a Tiptronic six-speed transmission on quattro models. The Tiptronic transmission provides drivers with the ease of an automatic and the added option of manual gear choice if the desire arises. The Audi S5 Coupe is available with either a six-speed manual or a Tiptronic six-speed automatic transmission. (posted on conceptcarz.com) Both option afford buyers the choice of capable, smooth and sporty gearboxes befitting Audi’s dedication to performance.
The highly advanced Audi S tronic® seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission comes standard on the Audi S5 Cabriolet. Because the sophisticated transmission uses dual input shafts and twin clutches, the gearbox is able to ‘predict’ which gear the driver intends to use and prep the gear for action before it is selected. This results in seamless and instantaneous gear changes, taking just a fraction of a second.
Also available on both the Audi S5 and S5 Cabriolet is quattro with Sport rear differential, which gives the Audi S5 a new level of road holding ability by actively controlling the distribution of torque between the two rear wheels, effectively overdriving the outside wheel in corners. This ‘forces’ the front end of the vehicle into the corner to eliminate understeer and create more surefooted excitement for the driver. In addition, the Sport rear differential works with ESP® during accident avoidance maneuvers to keep the S5 cars stable and composed in emergencies.
About 2011 Audi A5
The 2011 Audi A5 will be the first full sized coupe from the German automaker following the release of the Audi 100, since most of the succeeding releases were mostly sedans. Thus, this all new model is being marketed as a four-seater with lots of new promises up ahead for loyal fans of the Audi lineup.
There are two choices of basic line packages for the 2011 Audi A5. The first one is the S line sports package plus that offers vehicles with a sporty suspension and a choice between an 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels or 19-inch alloy wheels with 20-spokes. You can also get one that comes with 20-inch wheels and 7-twin-spoke design. The inside of this vehicle is quite consistent and has become somewhat of a benchmark for the Audi models. It comes with leather upholstery and trimmings that is standard across all trim versions, the automatic climate control, Multi Media interface system, among other interior features. In terms of the passenger comfort, some issues might be resolved such as the low seating position on the driver’s seat, as well as limited legroom and headroom for the passengers.
The heart of the 2011 Audi A5 is in its powertrain performance, though. You can choose between the 2.0T or V6 engine to equip this vehicle with. Either choice will not deliver the same quality as a high performance vehicle, but majority of that could be due to the heavy weight of the vehicle body. Nonetheless, you will find the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to be quit powerful as it can offer a maximum of 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft torque. Meanwhile, the optional 3.2 liter V6 engine can produce up to 265 horsepower and 243 lb-ft torque. There are two choices for transmission system – six-speed manual and six-speed automatic.
When it comes to fuel economy rating, 2011 Audi A5 is pretty remarkable, especially for the 2.0T engine. Exact details for the EPA rating on this model has yet to be released but you can expect the ratings to not be too high, especially when compared to its competitors due to the increase in vehicle body weight.

STRIKING FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Hyundai appreciates the power of first impressions, and one look at this premium flagship sedan is proof. Azera’s proportions are elegant, purposeful and aerodynamically efficient, which reduces wind noise, while adding maximum stability on the highway. Inside, its spacious cabin provides not only roomy comfort, but a luxurious look and attention to detail that makes both driver and passengers feel like they are riding in a much more expensive sedan.
SAFETY FEATURES
Maintaining Hyundai’s emphasis on delivering class leading safety technology, the 2008 Azera boasts impressive active and passive safety features to protect its occupants in the event of a collision, earning the vehicle the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) top crash test ratings for frontal offset impacts. 2008 Hyundai Accent
FUEL EFFICIENT ENGINE
The Accent is powered by a 1.6-liter DOHC in-line four cylinder engine that features four valves per cylinder with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). The DOHC and CVVT combination helps to give the engine a very broad powerband, coupled with high fuel efficiency and low emissions.
With the better breathing from the CVVT, performance peaks at 110 horsepower at 6000 rpm and torque is 106 lb.-ft. at 4500 rpm. At 110 horsepower, Accent makes more horsepower than Yaris, Fit and Aveo. Fuel economy is also competitive. With a manual transmission, the Accent’s new EPA mileage is 27 mpg City and 32 mpg Highway. With the optional four-speed automatic transmission, the Accent’s new EPA rating is 24 mpg City and 33 mpg Highway.
Besides the added performance it provides, CVVT also helps the engine operate more cleanly, and the Accent is certified as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV). The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) also recognized the Hyundai Accent as one of the top 12 ‘Greenest Vehicles’ in the industry. Part of the Alpha engine family, the Accent’s powerplant is a tough and technologically advanced unit that features a rigid cast-iron block and lightweight aluminum cylinder head. Engineered for the long haul, the Alpha is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.

The 2010 Hyundai Accent lineup gains a new low-price model that promises high fuel economy. Accent returns as a 2-door hatchback in GS and SE trims, and as a 4-door sedan in GLS form. New for 2010 is the base Accent Blue, which has equipment levels similar to the GS. The Blue has specific transmission gear ratios and other aerodynamic tweaks that Hyundai says improves highway fuel economy up to 9 percent when compared with other Accent models. The sole engine is a 110-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across the board. A 4-speed automatic is available on all but the Accent Blue. Available safety features include ABS, front-side airbags, and curtain-side airbags. Power windows and locks and remote entry are optional on the GS and GLS. Accent lends its basic design to the Rio from Hyundai’s Kia division, but Rio differs in features, pricing, and warranty coverage.
2010 Audi A6
The 2010 Audi A6 3.2 gets slightly more power, while other versions of this premium midsize car are largely unchanged. A6 is offered as a sedan or Avant wagon. The base car is the front-wheel-drive 3.2 sedan. It has a 265-horsepower 3.2-liter V6, an increase of 10 horsepower from 2009. It teams with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that behaves much like an automatic.
All other A6 versions reprise Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0T quattro is available as a sedan or wagon. It has a supercharged 300-horsepower 3.0-liter V6. The 4.2 quattro is a sedan with a 350-horsepower 4.2-liter V8. At the top of the A6 roster is the sporty S6 sedan, which has a 435-horsepower 5.2-liter V10.
Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front- and rear-side airbags. All A6 models have Audi’s MMI control that uses a console knob and switches, and a dashboard screen to adjust audio, climate, and other functions. A navigation system and keyless access/engine start are available.
2009 Audi A5
The 2009 Audi A5 makes news by offering its high-performance S5 model with an automatic transmission. In pricing and size, A5 slots between Audi’s compact A4 and midsize A6. Two versions of these four-seat coupes are offered. The A5 is powered by a 265-hp 3.2-liter V6 engine. The high-performance S5 gets a 354-hp 4.2-liter V8. Both models have Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive and are offered with manual or automatic transmission.
The automatic is a new option on the S5. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. The A5 has standard 18-inch wheels, while 19s are standard on the S5. Standard equipment on both models includes a sunroof, leather upholstery, and three-zone climate control. Options include a navigation system and an uprated audio system.
Available on A5 is an S line Sport package that includes unique styling cues, 19-inch performance tires, and sport seats. Optional on both A5 and S5 are adaptive cruise control and Audi Drive Select, which includes upgraded power steering and an adaptive suspension.
